At fifteen I suffered a series of brain haemorrhages which altered my life’s course.

I have been working on acceptance of this for thirty years and some days are better than others. So I understand when things at this time may not be what you want them to be.

In my teens I trained as a beautician and massage therapist in later years I have studied counselling and mindfulness really enjoying both.

I have worked with vulnerable adults and in bereavement counselling.

All these different experiences helped shape me and led me to create a business focused on the benefits of massage for the body and mindfulness and talking for the mind – Hence Mindful Massage.

I have created a Mindful Massage which can be done as a one-off or as a course of six sessions.

All sessions include conversation, mindfulness and massage to teach you techniques to help you slow down, live in the moment and make you feel better mentally and physically.

All sessions last for eighty minutes and are tailored to your individual requirements.

The initial session begins with a mood sheet to assess how mindful you are.

We look at becoming non-judgemental, stepping away from being on automatic pilot, being aware of areas of tension in your life and developing coping mechanisms for these.

As the sessions progress, I introduce topics such as adopting patterns of non-striving, practicing mindful breathing, understanding yourself, dealing with difficulty, letting go of negative emotions and befriending others and really importantly yourself.

A pressure based Swedish massage on the tightest and most painful areas of your body ensures you feel great both mentally and physically.

My salon is in my garden, a tranquil and peaceful place close to Holywood town centre, you can park right outside.
